Are you so drained from work you have little energy to give your kids?
What if you redefined success?
Parents tell me that one of their greatest challenges in raising their kids today is that they’re just worn out. This exhaustion comes from the self-inflicted wounds of busyness. Being a workaholic and trying to have it all. They’ve turned the American dream into a nightmare when money and stuff become their gauge for success.
But life is a trade-off. An undue emphasis on financial success too often negatively affects our families and our health. Proverbs 24:17 says, “Don’t wear yourself out to get rich. Have the wisdom to show restraint.” There is more passing time to make more money, but each passing day is one less day we have to impart wisdom to our kids while cultivating lifelong relationships with them.
