Proverbs 19:27 says, “stop listening to instruction, my son, and you’ll stay from the words of knowledge.” Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to advice and accept instruction and in the end, you will be wise.”

The Knowledge & Wisdom of Scripture

I quote these two Proverbs because together they make great memory verses for our kids. Early on, our kids should understand the virtues of gaining knowledge and wisdom and that they are acquired over time; usually by accepting instruction.

This is why it’s so important for us as parents to be our children’s go-to counselors. The question remains, have we heeded the wisdom of God’s word that we might be wise counselors to our children.
