Participating in sports may benefit your children.
Do you ever wonder at what expense?
Few things are better for parent-child relationships than good communication. The time spent with our kids in one-on-one conversations is worth a ton. Keeping the radio or music off in the car as the kids are being driven to school or church is a perfect time to share healthy dialogue. You have a captive audience!
It is so easy to make the mistake of keeping every idle moment filled with the sight and sound of entertainment. However, these can be little opportunities for communication that help us discover things about our children and vice versa. These moments are valuable and can help build the healthy parent-child relationships we have always desired.
