Same Team

Whenever you and your child can be on the same team and fight for the same cause you will accomplish a great deal toward fertilizing a healthy relationship with your child. But of course, the cause must be a noble one. One which is congruent with God’s will and a Biblical worldview. Maybe you serve at a soup kitchen together, or volunteer at a nursing home. It could be a letter-writing campaign to save the lives of the unborn- those otherwise doomed for abortion. 

Whatever your cause, in addition to relationship building, it will be a tremendous way to grow your child in character and maturity all while diminishing any sense of entitlement and allowing them to experience the end rewards and spiritual blessings of giving themselves away to others.
