Most girls come to a point in their lives that they want to start wearing makeup. Should we, as parents, allow it?

Maybe She’s Born with It [One Minute Feature]

At what point does the application of makeup become appropriate for a girl? How much is too much?

When is It Appropriate for Girls to Apply Makeup?

How old should our daughters be before they’re allowed to wear makeup? I would say when they are old enough to pay for it themselves and apply it appropriately. Though we may not all be able to discern what “appropriate” makeup application looks like, most all of us know when it’s applied inappropriately.

The longer our girls can stay girls, and enjoy the things that girls enjoy, the better. They have the rest of their lives to be women. But, when the day of the application actually comes, let’s allow our daughters to apply it themselves, just to see where their own discernment level is. If it looks like she’s exercising wisdom and discernment in applying it, consider allowing it.
