A question for the ages- career or kids?
Is there a benefit to having children early in life?
Lots and Soon
Recently I saw my 40-something-year-old cousin and her 5-year-old daughter at a family gathering. Living over 1,000 miles apart, it was my first time seeing her in over a decade. Exhausted, she said that I had been right about something I had said over 20 years ago; that married couples shouldn’t wait too long to have kids and that we should enjoy them while we are still young.
Our culture has led us to believe that a career is as rewarding as parenting. Another regret older parents often have is not having enough kids while still young. Psalm 127 speaks of kids being a blessing from the Lord. That we are blessed to have a house full of them.
