Little Christs

Only three times does the Bible ever use the word “Christian”. There is also evidence that the name “Christian” didn’t come from within our ranks, but may have been given to us as a slur. “Christian” means “little Christs.” Social media and public schools are packed with slurs, including Christian slurs. Our kids are not immune.

We live in a day where the word “Christian” isn’t slur enough for some people. Christian nut job, religious kook, hater, bigot, and more are often used to insult today’s Christians. The apostle Peter said that we are blessed when we are insulted because of the name of Christ and to praise God when we suffer as Christians. Reinforce in your kids the same thing. Build in them the grit to stand strong for the name of Jesus Christ.
