Kids got you frustrated?
Put on a happy face!
“Put on a Happy Face”
I know there are times when our kids have frustrated us to the point that we just don’t have anything positive to say to them at the moment. But here’s something you might consider.
Even when your words have been tough and a rebuke was in order, think about the way you communicate with facial expressions during and afterward.
Are they hard and bitter? Your child will receive a hard word much better if you can subsequently allow your heart to pour through with facial expressions of affirmation.
Proverbs 15:30 says, “a cheerful look brings joy to the heart.” Though you might find it hard to articulate an encouraging word at the moment, what your child reads on your face will speak volumes to his heart.
