Girl power and female empowerment are very hot topics in today’s culture. That’s not inherently a bad thing, depending on how you define it.
What does female empowerment look like? We need to be able to identify what true female empowerment is, so that we can better equip our daughters to become what God desires, instead of what the world craves.
Defining Female Empowerment
We hear a lot about female empowerment these days. So, what should we be teaching our daughters about true female empowerment? Many in our culture, whether intentionally or not, too often lead our girls to believe that their sexuality is their greatest means of empowerment. While it may be their easiest means, it’s certainly not their greatest means.
Scripture says that our daughters should be taught to conduct themselves with a quiet and gentle spirit, and should adorn themselves with modest apparel. By doing so, our daughters empower themselves to attract to themselves the best of the best—not only in men—but also in many good and wholesome opportunities.
