Facebook Accountability – Facebook, Twitter and mobile technology have radically changed the way our teens communicate with each other. And Trace Embry says that can be a problem … today on License to Parent.
One of the many wonders of Facebook is the ability to bring those further from us, closer to us. Unguarded, however, it too often drives those who really are closest to us further from us, mainly our kids. Like fire or water, Facebook can be a tool for good, or a tool for destruction. It can often be a vehicle for distortions of the truth, unhealthy relationships, and a platform for child predators. One way to protect our kids is to have unbridled access to their Facebook accounts. Sure, kids, and even some adults will accuse you of snooping, sneaking, spying or even voyeurism, but in the meantime you will be teaching them discernment, and loving them enough to do the right thing.
