If your teen is driving you want them to be as safe as possible.
Here is a potentially life-saving tip.
Crosses
Those little white crosses along our nation’s highways? They are almost always not from speeding. Many of us have been conditioned to believe that speed kills; evidenced by those little white crosses. Take it from a former auto racer and policeman. Very few of those crosses are there because of speed. They are there because of unsafe lane movement.
In addition to following too closely, most of those crosses are there because people do not check their blind spots when changing lanes. Teens are no exception. Mirrors are helpful, but you must turn your head and neck for your blind spot. In addition, tell your teens when they’re changing lanes to never dart. Make slow and gradual lane changes. This gives time for the drivers they still may not see to take evasive action.
