In the bible, we are all called to be content.
What does this mean practically?
Finding Daily Contentment
If you have content kids you are blessed and so are they. Contentment is not being satisfied with the mediocre, nor is it on par with the self-absorbed and smug attitude of complacency.
Contentment is the realization that we’ve done our best. It’s shooting for excellence without the neurotic qualities that can accompany perfectionism. So teach your kids the difference.
You’ll find them to be less stressed, less self-absorbed, and a whole lot more capable of having an attitude of gratitude. It also helps our kids realize that they don’t have to be all things for all people. They can be themselves.
If you have a conversation about this with your kids, I think you’ll find it to be a relationship builder that will last for a lifetime.
