The teenage years are full of uncomfortable questions and discussions. Not only are the birds interested in the bees, teens are also tempted to experiment with drugs and alcohol, many for the very first time.
Smoking pot is one of the first drugs your teen may ever come in contact with. If you suspect that they’ve tried it, or may be tempted to in the future, how do you approach them?
How to Talk to Your Teen About Smoking Pot
What do you do if you suspect your teenager is smoking pot? Well, this will all depend on exactly what kind of evidence you have for your suspicions. You can never go wrong when you put things in the form of an unassuming question. For example, you could ask, “Junior, if you ever become tempted to smoke pot, do you trust me enough to come to me first?” or, “Junior, what do you think is Christ’s position on smoking pot?”
Regardless of his answers, you’d do well to let him know that should he ever decide to pursue this foolish endeavor and be caught, you will be contacting every one of his friends’ parents to alert them to the risk their teens are in by hanging out with your teen.
