Too Much Stuff – This is License to Parent with Trace Embry, with a look at the old expression, “He who dies with the most toys … wins” and Trace, what’s the impact of that on today’s families.

Well, now our kids are playing with all those toys without us because we’re too busy working so hard to pay for all of them.  In the process we have created a generation of young people who have worked little, to get a lot.  Stuff seems to be in abundance today, while contentment seems to be at an all time low. Since we’ve created a generation of kids that are insatiable and narcissistic, you may want to consider making Junior fulfill some responsibilities and obligations before just carte blanche allowing him to enjoy certain rights and privileges, including the use of all those toys you’ve worked so hard to acquire.  It will be a tremendous character building experience for both parent and child.
