Giving our kids a better life by earning more may be counterproductive.
Why do we think so?
A Wise Trade
Are you one of those parents guilty of frantically treading the hampster wheel in pursuit of the American dream? Has stress and exhaustion left you thinking the American dream is actually a nightmare? Life is a trade-off. The time you spend pursuing upward mobility is time you’ll never get back with your kids at their young and impressionable ages. Just think how much turmoil trying to have it all has actually cost you.
Proverbs 15:16 says, “Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.” The Proverbs are filled with bold and subtle reminders of life’s priorities. The wise and discerning parent knows what to say “yes” to, what to say “no” to, and when. Life is a trade-off; choose wisely.
