Not only is the internet full of false information, it also has become an idol to our children searching for something they will not find searching the web.
Too much of anything can be a bad thing, especially when it comes to technology and our kids. Do you monitor the time your kids spend on the internet, phones and gaming? Is there down time for technology for everyone in your household, even parents?
Stick To It
When you had a few tools and supplies in your garage you not only knew where to find them all, you knew how to properly use them all. Then, over time, you acquired a lot more tools and supplies and that’s when you had trouble actually finding what you needed, so you go to the hardware store and buy what you swore you already had only to stumble upon the thing a month or two later.
The point is that too much of anything can be as exasperating and debilitating as not enough. The internet is like that. Our kids are flooded with content, much of it false, and it’s proving to be just as exasperating and debilitating as not having it at all, because to cite George Bernard Shaw, false knowledge really is more dangerous than ignorance. Talk to your kids about that.
