I’m sure you’re aware that I’m a big proponent of parents having the upper hand in the home.

Have the Upper Hand at Home

I think that parenting with the upper hand is not only biblical but historical, logical, and, in my experience, very practical. It’s also emotionally beneficial to kids when they know parents are in tune with God and in check with them.

Kids tell me all the time that they wish their parents took more authority over them. This is because even they know they have a propensity to gravitate towards sin. This is a security thing for them.

But it’s a hard thing for parents to come to terms with because so many struggle with their kids’ carnal desires. The keyword here is carnal. Remember, kids have a spiritual side. They want us to help them keep in touch with it.
