Learning from their past will help our children’s future.

What make’s this possible?
The Meaningful Past
One of the lamest arguments that many mental health professionals give parents for not punishing their children is that punishment looks backward to the past, while discipline looks ahead to the future. But just think about the logical absurdity of such a notion.
History always looks to the past. Looking to the past was the very reason our school systems were so adamant about our kids understanding history. Why? Because understanding our past helps us shape a brighter future. We learn from our past mistakes, at least we should. In fact, everything we have ever learned actually becomes the past the moment after we have learned it. So the past is important and in its proper context with the proper spirit, so is punishment.
