It is amazing how science always eventually affirms what Scripture has already said about life. This includes raising our kids. As we train our kids in the way they should go, understand that Jesus’ teachings of “dying to self” and “doing unto others” have some profound effects on the human brain.

Altruism triggers neurons in the brain that actually make a person feel better when they do something for someone else. Encouraging our kids to help others is great brain training. So without giving them any reward aside from the act itself let us challenge our kids more often to offer a lending hand to someone who has no ability to bless them back. This spiritually initiated act with grow not just their brains, but their hearts as well.
