Are parents as serious as they should be about spending time with kids? Jobs and school may separate parents and kids for a while, but in our distracting, entertainment-focused culture, it is common for parents to act absent even when they are with their kids.
Spending time with kids, and I mean really watching over them and investing in their lives, is a vital part of the parenting process. Kids learn from and look up to their parents. If parents are not serious about being present in their kids lives, their kids may turn to more destructive influences.
Why Parents Must Realize That Spending Time with Kids Is Important
What if an enemy of the United States and of God overwhelmed our country and mandated that one parent must stay home full-time to tend to the children, and if parents disobeyed, their children would be taken from them? We would find a way to make sure at least one parent stayed home at all times, wouldn’t we?
In a sense, many of our kids have been taken away already. That enemy is already here—taking the form of our increasingly depraved culture. My point is that if we were forced into it, we would find a way to give our kids the oversight and time they truly require—for fear of losing them. With each passing day, time is a diminishing childhood investment opportunity. That is why we must capitalize now, while Junior’s stocks are still affordable.
