Training up a child has its challenges. Undoubtedly each age comes with its own unique circumstances, obstacles and teachable moments. As parents, taking advantage of these moments and lessons is important to stay ahead of the curve!

Imagine parenting a child without discipline. The child continues to grow and learn about the world around them, However, without proper discipline, this child will assume that all of the things that were “let go” or left unattended are a normal and acceptable part of life.

To Cry or Not to Cry

Ever wonder why some parents allow their infants or young children unbridled crying and screaming in a public venue without any apparent attempt to comfort or correct their child? Beyond being just plain inconsiderate, parents often think Junior is just expressing himself in a normal childlike manner. Other times, they simply don’t know their options. If this describes you, you’d do well to take Junior out of the venue immediately for the sake of everyone around you. And, if appropriate, exercise proper discipline; because, ultimately there are two people who are going to benefit most if it’s truly needed—you and Junior. Left unaddressed, during his teen years, you’ll be doing the screaming instead.
