Poly Family [One Minute Feature] - Trace Embry

The definition of family is a group consisting of parents and children living together in a household. The biblical definition is, The family is the foundational institution of society ordained by God, a father, a mother, and child(ren).

In our culture today, it’s becoming common to see same-sex parents or even poly families. Do parents still teach their children that there should be a dad, a mom, and their kids, or has our society just accepted this change to be normal?

A Family Defined

You might know what the ideal family is supposed to look like simply by virtue of the times you grew up in. But, because of our rapidly changing times, even our Christian kids are believing that two moms, two dads, or even a poly family are just as legitimate as one man, one woman, and some kids.

In our post-modern world terms like “family” or “marriage” are being grossly redefined. A decade or two ago gay marriage would’ve been thought to be an oxymoron, as were poly families just a year or two ago. But, that slippery slope is producing exactly what was feared: a society where anything goes. So, please discuss with your children the importance of a proper view of the family. Our future depends on it.
