We don’t like to see our kids hurting, but eliminating that pain causes other problems.
So what is the solution?
Nobody likes pain, but we have become a society with little to no tolerance for it anymore. The pharmaceutical industry and medical field have helped promote this pain-free world by creating and endorsing a pill for virtually everything. This has only exacerbated an already soft and fragile generation of young people.
However, pain is an alarm system to alert us that something is wrong. We can help mitigate our kids every acquiring an addiction to painkillers like Fentanyl or others by being slow to give them a pill for every minor pain they experience as kids. Allowing our children to endure a little pain every now and again does not make us bad parents. It may actually lead us to save our child’s life someday.
