No Vile Thing

With respect to entertainment, I’m all about staying abreast of what is going on in our culture regardless of how sinful it might be. But there is a difference between staying abreast of sin and actually being entertained by it. Do a serious gut check. How much of our morally depraved entertainment culture have we allowed in our home to be entertained by ourselves? How has it influenced your kids’ thoughts and behaviors? And finally, can God bless a life or a family that is regularly entertained by things that grieve his heart?

Psalm 101:2 says, “I will walk in my house with a blameless heart. I will set no vile thing before my eyes.” That may be a verse worth being haunted by for a while.
