From the beginning of a pregnancy, mothers play a unique role in the lives of their children. Moms have the responsibility of carrying and delivering every child that is brought into this world.
For new or veteran parents who are expecting a child, I would suggest considering the role of the mother in those early years very carefully. When you consider having children, consider the unique roles of each, mom and dad.
Do Mothers Play a Unique Role Fathers are Less Equipped to Tackle
This is not going to be popular with the ladies, but I believe it’s a biblical concept—and a scientifically-backed concept as well.
When our kids are small, from birth to kindergarten, at least one parent’s continual presence is necessary in the life of the child. And from my own experience, there is no doubt in my mind; optimally of the two parents, the most crucial of the two during these formative years, generally speaking, is the mother.
This, by no means, diminishes the critical importance of fathers. However, mom, you are better equipped physically, emotionally, relationally, and perhaps even spiritually to care for that young preschooler than the average male.
