Doing our own thing comes with logical conclusions. What does this mean for parents?
We must teach our teens to think.
Logical Ends
So many teens today believe they can do what they want to do when they want to as long as it doesn’t hurt someone. Unfortunately, many parents have bought into this same faulty post-modern ideology as well.
If this describes your teenager you need to ask them some questions. First, how do they define hurt? Is it physical hurt only? The second thing your child needs to be asked is, “what is the logical outworking of 7 billion people on the planet thinking and acting this way?” The obvious answer is chaos, war, and death. Then ask them this; “what is the logical outworking of loving your neighbor as yourself? Or treating others as you would want to be treated?” The obvious answer is peace, harmony, and order. This is when you ask; “what world do you want to help create?”
