If we are to be “the salt and the light” should we not send our kids to public school?
Perhaps not.
Light and Dark
A common argument Christian parents give for enrolling their kids in public school over homeschooling them is that they feel their Christian kids can make a positive impact in public schools. They argue that they want to keep the “light” in the darkness. However, in too many cases the light gets turned into darkness.
What would happen if through homeschooling we trained more of our Christian kids to be public school teachers? Would that not be a safer way of bringing light into the darkness? Unless your child is a spiritual Ruth, Esther, Daniel, or Joseph, public school is a great place for our children to lose their faith.
