As parents, we want our kids to be happy. Unfortunately, this can lead us to give in to things that we shouldn’t, all in an effort to keep the peace.
What is the cost of our attempts to keep our children content? What sort of character are we helping them to develop?
How Many Parents Do Their Children a Disservice
Do you find yourself giving your kids things to keep them satisfied, only to realize that their contentment only lasts until their next desire? Though many parents admit this, they continue to perpetuate their kids’ insatiable appetites anyway—all to avoid conflict.
They mistakenly think they’re buying time and approval with their kids, but they fail to realize that the cost is high and creates character and behavioral problems. They become complicit in creating entitled, and insatiably-spoiled brats. Don’t be that parent.
