In serving teens from all across America at Shepherds Hill Academy, I have learned the obstacles they face in accepting the Truth.
My experience has shown me that hypocrisy is keeping teens from the truth.
Are you a “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) Christian? Are you a “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) parent? Because both are vitally important to nurturing a healthy and respectful relationship with your child—and God.
We often wonder why all our church attendance isn’t drawing our kids closer to the God we claim to serve—which may require a serious self assessment. There’s nothing today’s young people hate more than false fronts—even though they live half their own lives that way on social media. Regardless—as believers, the more genuine we can be in our walk with the Lord, the more likely our kids will serve and obey Him also. So, don’t let your kids see the “rebellious and party crowd” be a greater example of “what you see is what you get” than you are.
