Humility

We live in a time where it is common, acceptable, and even fashionable to brag about oneself. Listen closely to some of the popular rap lyrics and read any number of Facebook posts and you will see this condition. However, deep down people still appreciate humble people. Proverbs 27:2 says, “Let another praise you and not your own mouth. Someone else and not your own lips.”

Teaching our kids this discipline will bring them recognition and blessing from their heavenly master and his multitude of human apprentices as well. Therefore there will be no need for self-aggrandizement. This is when our children will be most pleased with themselves and you will be most pleased with them as well.
