To train our kids in apologetics, don’t send them away. Stay right where you are!
Remember the phrase “there’s no place like home?” The same is true when it comes to training up our children in good, godly spiritual principals. One way we can instill truth in our children is through the teaching of apologetics. As parents, we can train our kids to not blindly follow a belief, but to know the why behind their faith.
There’s No Place Like Home
For the sake of our declining culture, how many of us have ever considered our homes to be training grounds for Christian apologetics—and our kids our cadets? Christian apologetics is not “apologizing” for what we believe. It is the 1Peter 3:15 mandate to be able to defend what we believe. We can do this with science, history, logic, philosophy, archeology, theology and hard facts and reason. There are libraries of information on this subject. There are audio and video presentations as well. The internet is also a source; but, be warned, it’s a source for the enemy’s apologetic too. Bottom line: If you don’t train your kids—somebody else will.
