The Importance of Good Parenting

Did you realize that good parenting is as important to your child’s physical and emotional health as diet and exercise? I was reading where researchers at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine did a study on over 1300 students over a period of 30 years. When concluding the most prominent contributor to mental illness, hypertension, malignant tumors, heart disease and suicide, the number one cause of all these things was a lack of closeness to their parents—particularly their fathers.

So, there’s something very therapeutic, emotionally and physically, in cultivating a healthy relationship with our kids. And from my experience, both emotional and physical health begins with a healthy spiritual relationship with our heavenly Father.
