Why does this matter?

Have you noticed a link between the heart and the tongue? By training our kids to speak politely and with manners we can affect their hearts as well as their minds. While our society becomes more coarse with each passing day, there is still (and always will be) a respect and demand for those whose hearts are pure and whose speech is gracious.

By teaching our children the Ephesians 4:29 dictum to speak with wholesome talk we are not only giving them a leg up on healthy relationships, but in future business opportunities as well. In short, our kid’s speech can often, and in a myriad of ways, be a predictor of their success in life. Proverbs 22:11 says, “He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the King for his friend.”
