Success in the real world comes when kids are taken out of the video game world.
Here’s what time with troubled teens has taught us.
Brain Science
Keep this in mind. Whenever we allow our kids to do stimulating things over and over again (like video games for example) their brain chemistry often creates and a greater and greater appetite for that activity.
This is why allowing unbridled access to un-redemptive activities like videos games can actually be grooming them for failure in the real world.
Also keep in mind that when our kids are made to halt a video game, without a constructive substitute, they are likely still playing that game in their minds. This keeps stimulating that same brain chemistry. Making sure that Junior focuses on a real task after gaming will be beneficial to both you and your child.
