GOOD CHARACTER – Good character is what any good parent wants for their kids. But, don’t parents first need to know what determines good character–and how it’s built? The Godly parent knows that these answers are found in Scripture. But, these paths to good character often contradict pop psychology and politically correct worldly wisdom.
The uncomfortable truth is that building good character most often comes, not from our triumphs, but through our tragedies–our struggles in life. Is worldly wisdom what we want as the desired end for our young people? Aren’t they, from the worldly perspective, wise enough? It’s time we allow our kids to endure and sort through the natural consequences of their actions, so they might grow in Godly character and acquire the mind of Christ.
