Foundations

Many of life’s foundations today, particularly in raising kids, are crumbling. Just one manifestation of this foundational crumbling can be seen when watching a lot of Millennial-age parents (who were largely raised on screens and keyboards) being pulled around by their nose rings and cowering to their child’s every demand. And why wouldn’t they? Their Boomer and Gen X parents groomed them for their own entitlement and narcissism.

Now, these fragile parents are creating even more fragile, entitled, and narcissistic kids! Truly what one generation does in moderation the next does in excess. The older and wiser are supposed to lead and train the younger and more simple. Not the other way around. This is the first parenting foundation.
