Why do you do what you do? Would you say that it is for your kids?
This challenge may be for you.
For the Kids
We have all heard the saying, “Do it for the sake of the kids.” I have actually heard couples say that they were getting divorced “for the sake of the kids” while other couples committed to salvaging their marriage “for the sake of the kids.” But how many problems for both married couples and their kids would be solved if both husband and wife committed to keeping their marriage together for the sake of their creator rather than their kids?
For Christians in particular, aren’t marriage vows given before God? Are kids not the byproduct of that commitment? When God is preeminent in our marriages our kids will be the recipients of divine collateral blessing and be more likely to make God preeminent in their own lives.
