Should Parents Allow Feelings to Dictate all Decisions [One Minute Feature]

As parents, it is important to consider the feelings of our children. But does this mean that parents should allow feelings to dictate all decisions?

Should Parents Allow Feelings to Dictate all Decisions [One Minute Feature]

I would argue that parents also need to consider other factors as they make decisions and take actions. Parents need to realize that sometimes the right and logical thing to do will not line up with the feelings of their children.

Why Some Parents Today May Allow Feelings to Dictate all Decisions

We are raising our kids in a society that values feelings over logic and truth. Even many of those who value truth still can’t define it, and others would certainly never call it an absolute. Where, then, should feelings rank on the priority list when raising kids? Well, when commanding His Son to endure the cross, our Heavenly Father certainly didn’t make feelings His top priority.

There was a greater, logical, and eternal truth and purpose for His decision that actually trumped the carnal feelings of His only begotten son. When raising our kids, this attitude needs to be our priority too because mere feelings can often impede God’s truth, logic, and eternal purposes.
