Not only do you have to be concerned about who your kids are talking to on social media, but what harm can be done to have friends of friends of friends that you have never met? Could this be a lesson of quality versus quantity?

Social media has changed our view of friendship. Facebook, in particular, has certainly convoluted the term turning friendship into more of a nebulous performance-based pursuit. A pseudo-relationship based more on style than on substance. Teaching our kids about commitment and integrity are key components to teaching them about real friendship.
Proverbs 18:24 says, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother.” The many friends our kids brag about having a Facebook are most often little more than companions, if that. So, let’s teach our kids the difference because many Facebook companions have ruined many good kids.
