Exceptional

Despite huge historic mistakes, by and large, America has always been considered exceptional. She has earned the respect and trust of other nations. Being exceptional happens when ones overarching moral standards are congruent with those found in scripture. This was once the case in America. The question is- as parents, are we exceptional in our children’s eyes?

Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.” Our kids do not have to approve or even agree with us to have peace in our homes. When our first allegiance is to God and his word we will more likely be viewed as exceptional. We will generate trust and respect from those we encounter- including our kids.
