For many parents, it is a no-brainer that teenagers and children need a curfew. It is a common practice for parents to require their kids to be home, within the safety of supervision, by a certain time at night.
But in our current digital age, kids can get into as much trouble over the phone or internet as they can outside of the home. Today, a digital curfew is just as important for your kids as a physical one.
1 Easy Way to Implement a Digital Curfew for Your Kids
Every child living under your roof needs to adhere to a reasonable curfew. These days, of course, parents need to relate those curfews to the world of digital technology.
I believe teenagers should have to check in their cell phones to a common area in the home by 8:00 p.m.一though there are certainly exceptions. You may have legitimate reasons for earlier or later times. But in general, after 8:00 p.m., all calls that Junior thinks he/she needs can be fielded by you. Not only will this give you additional insights into who your kids are paling around with, it will limit those frivolous late night calls.
Smartphones are off the table altogether. Junior can get plenty of experience operating yours, in your presence, if you choose to own one at all.
