Defining Terms

Before we can effectively communicate with our kids, we must agree on the proper definition of terms. In a day when common terms are given new and uncommon definitions, it’s never been more important to clarify terms with our kids. There’s no time right now to go over all the terms that are being redefined, but I’m sure you’re already aware of many. Love, hate, racist, male, female, right, wrong, grace, and the term friend. Just to name a few that are commonly abused.

Let’s look at “friend,” for example. Your kids should know what a true friend is. And it’s not an unknown digital acquaintance who likes your posts on Instagram.
