Teach your children that by respecting the law and it’s enforcers, in return they will receive the same respect.
In today’s society, everyone is on edge especially with the latest activity involving police shootings across the nation. How do you teach your children to handle situations involving a police officer? Are you teaching them to respect the law instead of fearing the law?
Respect
Here are some virtually guaranteed ways not to have your kids shot by police. Though not a guarantee against a warranted arrest by a police officer, it is a virtual guarantee against being shot by one. First, teach your kids to respect and obey police even when they seem unfair or unreasonable because some low-grade officers do exist.
Second, never resist arrest, submit peacefully, and let the legal process play out. Third, never flee from police, this automatically puts them on high alert and causes them to profile a non-compliant suspect as a guilty party. Teaching our kids to fear police than respecting them, can actually contribute to a family tragedy.
