Do you take the time to have intentional conversations with your children? Are many of your conversations with kids procedural and mundane instead of caring and meaningful?
For parents, communication with kids is important. Setting apart time to have meaningful conversations with kids can strengthen the relationship between parents and children.
How Communication with Kids Is Easy When Parents Make the Most of Opportunities
Few things are better for healthy parent/child relationships than good communication. So the time spent with our kids in one-on-one conversation is worth a ton. Keeping the radio or CD player off in the car as the kids are being driven to school or church creates a perfect opportunity for sharing some healthy dialogue.
After all, you have a captive audience. It is so easy to make the mistake of keeping every idle moment filled with the sights and sounds of entertainment. But these moments can be little opportunities for communication that can help us discover things about our kids—and vice versa. These are valuable discoveries that can help build the healthy parent/child relationships we have always desired.
