There’s a dying phenomenon in our world today that needs to be resurrected. It’s called commitment.

Divorce is just one of the manifestations of a society that no longer values commitment. When our kids start something, let’s see to it that they finish it. If the saying is true that “half of success is just showing up” then it’s also true that “to finish first, one must first finish.”

I’m not saying that they should be forced to finish something that we coerced them into. That often just exasperates our kids. But when our kids are trained to finish the things that they start, we help build character in our kids that will make them more valuable to everyone they encounter.
