I’ve mentioned before that your child’s diminishing desire for the church doesn’t necessarily mean that he or she has a diminishing desire for God.

Growing as a Church Body

If this is the case, and after discussion, prayer and a willingness from you, both of you may want to schedule a second meeting with your church’s pastor and/or youth pastor. Going into the meeting with an open spirit could actually make this a growing experience for everyone.

Approach your church’s ministry team with an open heart and an open mind. I’m not a fan of church hopping. But if your church’s ministry team resents the meeting in any way it might merit seeking a church body that isn’t threatened by the genuine concerns of their flock.
