Center of the Universe 2 – Do you suspect your child might be dealing with entitlement issues? Well, if you suspect it, I can assure you that there are others who will confirm it. No, more than likely they will never address you or your child directly. They’ll simply avoid you both. Let’s face it, people hate confrontation–AND narcissistic spoiled brats. How do you feel about other kids who act as though they live in a universe called “me?” How do you feel about their parents? Giving our kids everything they want when they want it is a sure-fire way of creating an entitled child that nobody likes. Consider this: If he wants the expensive brand-name shoes, offer to pay half while he works for the balance. Both the work and the wait will teach him delayed gratification that will do wonders for his character–and for his interpersonal relationships as well.
