Many families have the amazing ability to stick together through happiness, sadness, anxiety, grief, anger, and all kinds of other joys and hardships. I suspect, at least sometimes, the glue that holds many of these families together is laughter.
Bringing laughter into the home can strengthen and reaffirm the bond between parents and children. Parents should consider the benefits of offering their children opportunities to laugh and have fun as a family.
How Bringing Laughter into the Home Can Help Mend Tense Relationships
When our kids were young, they were pretty easily entertained. But as they get older, it takes more to keep them entertained and interested in being with us all the time. This does not mean they don’t want to be with us; they do, especially if we’re fun-loving and like to laugh.
Laughing with our kids relieves stress for everyone, and it is a great buffer between those sometimes tense events of the teenage years. Finding ways to bring laughter into your home will make it much easier for your kids to want to spend time with you— even in the midst of those difficult seasons. It’s almost like a cease fire. So be intentional about bringing play and laughter into your home.
