If you are a parent, you’ve probably thought about having “the talk” with your kids. But maybe you should think about having “the talks.” After all, there are a few biblical truths about sex that parents can begin to share when the kids are young and then reiterate as they grow up.
These truths are important to share because between the internet, television, and friends at school your kids probably know more about sex than you realize and from perspectives that are anything but biblical!
Biblical Truths About Sex
I regret to say that 90 percent of kids between the ages of 8 and 16 have viewed pornography, and many of those images are likely to be branded in our kids’ minds forever. Our depraved culture has now forced us into having discussions with our kids, early and often, about the dangers of pornography and premarital sex.
So share with your kids, early and often, the logic and truth about the beauty of safe-sex as God ordained it—and how it leads to human life. Then share with them, age appropriately of course, the likely results of sex outside of God’s ecosystem—how shame, hurt, disease and even death often result. These regular talks will help impart the gold standard for your child’s intimate future.
