If we are called to be followers of Christ, and to model Him in everything, we need to be a people set apart from the world. Christ was ridiculed and ultimately crucified for going against the flow of this world.

If we are called to follow Christ, why would we then adhere to secular parenting standards? There’s a much better way.

Why Christian Parents Should Shy Away From Secular Parenting

When it comes to standards for raising our kids, way too many Christian parents have bought into the hollow and deceptive philosophies of today’s political correctness, and postmodern thought that was spawned in the 1960s. Dr. Phil is not the Great Physician; Dr. Drew is not the Wonderful Counselor. Jesus Christ is.

Our families should not have to struggle with all the same issues that the secular world struggles with. Col 2: 8 could be speaking to today’s American Christian parents when it says, “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” Mom and dad, choose this day whom you will serve.
